Particle 的 (de)

的 (de) is a particle which shows possession.

We already learn the word 我: wǒ (I)， 你: nǐ (you)，您: nín (you, honorific form of 你: nǐ)，他: tā (he) ， and 她: tā (she).

If we add the word 的 (de), then they become:

我的 : wǒde, 你的: nǐde，您的: nínde，他的 : tāde， and 她的: tāde.

Then the meaning become:

我的 : wǒde (my)

你的: nǐde (your)

您的: nínde (your)

他的 : tāde (his)

她的: tāde (her)

Let’s make some sentences using the particle 的 (de):

1. 我是你的朋友。Wǒ shì nǐ de péngyǒu. I am your friend.
2. 他是wi的老师。Tā shì wǒ de lǎoshī. He is my teacher.
3. 这是我的书。Zhè shì wǒ de shū. This is my book.
4. 那是他的点脑。Nà shì tā de diǎn nǎo. That is his computer.
5. 你是我的爱人。Nǐ shì wǒ de àirén. You are my love.
