A. Asking for Opinion and Thought

When we want to ask some opinion to other people, we can use the following expressions:

  1. How is your opinion?
  2. How about this?
  3. What do you think about…?
  4. What do you think of…?
  5. What is your opinion?
  6. How do you feel?
  7. Please give me your opinion?
  8. What is your comment?
  9. Give me your comment?
  10. Do you have opinion of …?
  11. What is your idea?
  12. Do you have any idea?
  13. How about…?

B. Giving Opinion and Thought

Then you can give your opinion or thought by using the following expressions:

  1. In my opinion ….
  2. I personally believe ….
  3. I think that ….
  4. As far I know …
  5. I tend to think that …
  6. In my view ….
  7. I don’t think I care for it.
  8. To my mind …
  9. If you ask me, I feel …
  10. From my point of view ….
  11. The way I see is that ….
  12. My comment is …
  13. According to my opinion
  14. According to me …
  15. What I have in my mind is ….

C. Dialogue

Stephanie: I have just bought a new bag.

Dewi: Where did you buy it?

Stephanie: I bought it from an online shop in Jakarta. What do you think about it?

Dewi: I think the color is very beautiful, peach, your favorite one, right?

Stephanie: That’s right. Is the material good?

Dewi: It’s made of oxford, very strong. According to me it will be long lasting.

Stephanie: The price is Rp 500,000. How is your opinion about it?

Dewi: I don’t think it’s expensive because the look and the material is good enough.
